Curiously, the year our carrilanas were forced to hit the brakes and were in the box was also the year in which our team accelerated in the face of one of our great challenges: getting the Grand Prix of Carrilanas de Esteiro recognized as Festival of National Tourist Interest.

Today, after much work and collective effort, the Xunta de Galicia confirms the submission of the favorable file for its declaration of a Festival of National Tourist Interest to the Secretary of State for Tourism, the competent organism to formalize this distinction.

The originality and uniqueness of our party is one of the strengths sent by the Xunta de Galicia. Likewise, in its evaluation, its recognition as a reference event of the Galician summer stands out, as well as its commitment to the recovery of the carrilanas, handmade wooden vehicles that link the event directly with popular games, traditions and Galician culture. The reception capacity for visitors, their continuity over time and their roots, as well as the special care of their surroundings are other positive aspects of the report.

The Grand Prix de Carrilanas de Esteiro, which since 2000 already has the hallmark of Fiesta of Tourist Interest of Galicia, is fully consolidated with more than 80 carrilanas participating and 30,000 people from the public who come together for the descent of these vehicles without motor for a circuit of approximately 3,000 meters

Special mention for our #equipa, without all of you, we would never get anywhere. Now it’s time to take on the exciting challenge of achieving this distinction and continuing to grow as a group.

It no longer depends on us, we have to wait patiently and trust the good work done by the City Council of Muros, Tourism of Galicia and the Provincial Council of A Coruña.

Thank you.
